Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth. The implants are tiny titanium posts that are placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition, implants can help with shifting/drifting teeth, bite changes, chewing difficulties, wearing of remaining teeth, cracking/chipping of remaining teeth, changes in jaw point or facial changes. Bone loss also contributes to lost muscle tone, increased appearance in wrinkles, poor diet and nutrition, difficulty speaking and an aged appearance and implants are closest to natural teeth in regards to keeping them clean.
A. Implants are in the same price range as a three unit bridge.
A. The surgery is not painful and is very similar to work already being conducted under local anesthesia.
A. More and more insurance companies are covering the cost of implants to some percentage. If you are wondering if your insurance covers the cost, you will have to check with your insurance provider. Most insurance companies that do cover the cost cover the same amount on implants as they woud on a three-unit bridge.
A. The implants will be completed in about 6-8 weeks depending on the oral surgeon/periodontist who does the surgery.

A. Your implant will last a lifetime, however the crown that attaches to your implant is like a normal crown and may need to be replaced at some point.
